Community Cafe

OPEN EVERY WEDNESDAY MORNING FROM 10am-12noon

Back in September 2018, members of the Village Hall Committee started the Community Cafe. It proved to be a huge success and continues to thrive.

We’ve been very lucky along the way to receive a Lottery Grant and ongoing support from the Co-op as part of their Community funding.

A rota of volunteers (not just Village Hall Committee) turn up every Wednesday morning with cakes and sausage rolls to set up and clear away and the rest, as they say, is history. Without fail, apart from during lockdown and over the Christmas holiday, the Cafe opens.

Soup’n’Sweet Lunches quickly followed - we had always done two or three lunches a year - but they are now held on a regular basis and, thanks to funding from the Co-op and the National Lottery, are now every other week from October to May each year.

But it’s not just about the cafe and food - we’ve been on outings to the theatre and cinema, we have craft/art sessions and Cinema afternoons in the Hall –

but most of all it’s about the getting together with friends, old and new, remembering past times and enjoying new ones.
